Tour description:

This is a private tour for the admirers of the ancient and authentic villages. We will take you to the towns located between the sea coastline and the mountains. Not affected by the mass tourism, very different from the crowded Cannes, Monaco and Nice, these towns are waiting for you to discover their beauty, history and lifestyle. This will be a journey into the past and to the stunning nature!

Roquebrune-Cap-Martin

Perched medieval village at 300 meters above the sea level on the slope of the mountain with a fortified castle of the 10th Century just above, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin is full of charm with its stepped alleys, vaulted passageways and little squares. There is an amazing view over the village, the seacoast and Monaco.

Sainte-Agnès

The highest coastal village in Europe, perched at 800 meters above the sea level, Saint-Agnès offers a stunning panoramic view of the valley, the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains. The foundations of the medieval castle and its medieval garden are dating back to the end of the 10th century and can be visited. The construction of Saint-Agnès fort was started in 1932 because of the village’s strategic location. The fort was, excavated from the rock and equipped with its fearsome artillery. 350 soldiers could live all year long in this underground fort (equivalent in its height to a 4 stories building). The fort was fully equipped with heating, electricity and … a telephone. The last link in the line of fortifications called the Maginot line, built before the World War II to protect the Eastern border of France, the Saint-Agnès fort stopped the Italian troops in June 1940.

Peille

Peille is located at 600 meter above the sea level and is a charming ancient village with narrow streets and beautiful small shaded squares. You will also find imposing residences dating back to the Middle Ages, and beautiful Chapels. From its ancient and glorious past Peille has conserved an interesting array of monuments, ranging from the remains of the village fortifications to the impressive robust form of the XIVth century Palace, the "Palais des Lascaris" built on the edge of the cliff face.
