What is included:
Beyond the Riviera private tour is a journey into the countryside of the French Riviera, far from the flashy coastline.
The private tour can start with the discovery of Grasse where you will be able to visit the perfume factory and its museum free of charge. Grasse is considered the world's perfume capital. In fact, the region with its favorable climate, strong flower industry and presence of many local perfume factories, contributed to Grasse's worldwide reputation in the perfume industry. Grasse attracted again attention from the general public with the release of the movie “Perfume: The Story of a Murderer” in 2006 based on the book “Perfume” by Patrick Süskind.
GOURDON & TOURRETTES-SUR-LOUP
The private tour continues with the visit of Gourdon, an Eagle's nest village overlooking the Gorges du Loup valley. The view is breathtaking, and Gourdon can be an ideal place for a quick lunch. We continue our private tour to Tourrettes-sur-Loup and have a walk into this beautiful medieval fortified village, perched on a narrow spur of land extending from very rocky hills.
With our private tour, we will take you to the medieval village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of the most beautiful villages in France, home of many artists, like Marc Chagall, Picasso, Renoir and Matisse and others who used to stay and look for inspiration in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Walk through this stunning village and admire the famous art galleries of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Sit down for a drink in one of its cafés or visit the Maeght Foundation in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a true museum in nature, with modern and contemporary art in all its forms (by Chagall, Giacometti, Léger, Miró and many other artists).
The Beyond the Riviera private tour is a scenic drive into the south of France's countryside and hills. If you're looking for picturesque and perched hill villages, for some dating back to the medieval times, then it's the perfect private tour. It's easy for everyone, but Gourdon and Saint-Paul-de-Vence require some walking. For those who can't walk much, they can stay with the driver-guide or chill-out in a nearby café.
"We are very happy with the tours we took with Marsatis. We visited Nice ... and booked two full day tours with Marsatis, one for "Beyond the Riviera" ... , the other for "The French Riviera" ... . Our guide provided the kind of service that made us feel like part of the family, ... ."
"It's the best trip I ever had, we stopped at every sight possible to see. The tour guides were very polite, they didnt rush us and they guided us all the way. I would recommend this to anyone in Nice for couple of days and want to get a look around the French Riviera. ... ."
"We first met Marcin, of Marsatis Tours, in Sept. '14. ... . We enjoyed that day so much that, when we visited Nice again in Sept. '16 for several days, we included 2 more days with Marcin. ... . On the first day, we visited the mountain-top Medieval villages of Mougins, Grasse, Gourdon, Tourrette sur Loup, and St.Paul de Vence. ... . On our second day, we toured where he'd never taken tourists before. We headed north 1.5 hrs toward the Alps. Travelling through the Vesubie Gorge was exciting and scenic. We visited the village of St. Martin, which looked like it did 500 - 800 years ago (I was a History Teacher in younger days). Then we went to the quiet isolated village of Utelle, way up the switch-backs to the top of a mountain. No other tourists in either place. My photos look like a travel brochure."
